RM700 Million: Police Launch New Probe on PN-BN Ads Campaign

The Wangsa Maju District Police Chief, Supt. Ashari Abu Samah, has confirmed an investigation into the alleged misuse of RM700 million during the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) governments. The funds were purportedly spent on advertisements and publicity to promote the government’s agenda from 2020 to 2022.

Umno Communications Director, Datuk Lokman Noor Adam, filed a report urging police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to probe the substantial expenditure, citing concerns of potential abuse of power. Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil emphasized the public’s right to transparency regarding the RM700 million publicity expenses.
