DBKL recently called those who publicly litter across Kuala Lumpur those with third class mentality. Initially, this stemmed from netizens complaining that parts of the city were littered with trash. However, the city council implied that every individual is responsible for the trash they generate and should find the nearest trash can to them.

Netizens are defending the city council with their statement. Some accuse the city of not having enough trash cans, but countries like Japan do not have that many trash cans around their cities, yet they are still clean. For the most part, X users agree with the city council.
Following that, X users recommend the local authorities take action like how Singapore does it. Have undercover environmental officers to nab those who litter publicly, and give them a solid fine in order to stop this from happening.
