Netizens on X are showing their concerns towards large sums (RM9.7 million) of Zakat money ending up missing. Furthermore, those who are willing to donate their income to the organization are starting to have second thoughts. Many are feeling shame towards the entire ordeal as this is supposed to be a clean cut operation.
Zakat money missing?
It seems that this happened in Perak. Following that, netizens suggest giving these donations directly to the organizations that they are interested in. For the most part, many would obviously be upset if they found out the money they donated ended up in the wrong places.
Others state it is extremely difficult for someone to qualify as a receiver for these funds, especially if it’s someone living in poverty. Ironically, there are those who are less deserving and are allegedly the ones benefiting from it.
