Azman Abidin, a political secretary to the prime minister Anwar Ibrahim has called for an investigation into an allegation that a Perikatan Nasional leader is involved in trying to offer bribes to influential figures and MPs to topple the unity government. The allegation posted on a blog claims that the PN leader, who is an MP, has set aside some RM1 billion in funds to bribe government MPs into retracting support for the prime minister.

The government is working hard to spur economic recovery,” he said to local media. PN leaders have so far said they are the party ‘tin milo’ and do not have such a sum to buy MPs.
