KOTA BHARU – A security guard, 23, was brought before the Sessions Court here, on Thursday on charges of raping an underage lover, 14, three years ago at the Kampung Banggol Lepah address, Ketereh. He pleaded not guilty before the judge.

The accused appealed to be granted bail because he was the breadwinner of the family. The court then allowed the accused to be bailed for a sum of RM3,000 with one surety. He will b charged according to Section 376(1) of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and must also be punished with whipping.
