Who is Daim
He served twice as finance minister and played a pivotal role in economic policy-making. After Anwar Ibrahim was sacked by Mahathir in 1998, Daim resumed his finance portfolio from 1999 to 2001. He then resigned in 2001, citing fatigue from politics. Despite retiring, Daim remained influential, leading the Council of Eminent Persons in 2018.
