It seems the cases of policemen asking White tourists in Malaysia to pay RM100 fines upfront has happened twice now. The first incident involved a British couple, and now it seems another man is involved in it. Typically, traffic incidents would need to be solved at the police station or on the app.

However, the offence was that he did not wear a helmet. Not wearing a helmet while on a motorcycle will incur you a RM300 fine at the station. Unfortunately, the officer tried to ask for the RM100 upfront fine, it is unclear if this is an official fine or not.
X users feel embarrassed that our officers are seen like this. They state that foreigners may say negative things about our country after experiencing something like this. Regardless, these are all speculations as there are times where the authorities do give discounts for offenses.
