The topic of Malaysia not having enough walking infrastructure is a heavily discussed topic. Netizens understood that we are a car centric country, and we are heavily reliant on our own cars and ride sharing services like Grab. Sidewalks ending out of nowhere is a common sight here.

Poor walking infrastructure in Malaysia

Netizens state that they always felt these side-walks are purely just for decoration in our country. For the most part, people would just drive to their destination. There are times where pedestrians would have to walk on the road or even in special cases, a literal highway.

X users joked that there was not enough approved budget for them to finish off the sidewalk. Regardless, instances like these would never happen in Singapore, which is an example of having pedestrian walkways in our region.
