A pregnant woman from Thailand faced a moment of distress when she had to give birth by the side of the North-South Expressway (Plus) on Monday but the baby was delivered safely with the assistance of policemen who happened to be patrolling in the area.

Police ‘midwives’
The police shared details of the incident on Facebook, saying an officer and two rank-and-file personnel played the role of ‘first responders’ on the northbound lane of the Plus Expressway. During the incident, they assisted a Thai family who was about to welcome their newborn. The patrol car that Inspector Mat Fauzi, Corporal Shahril and Corporal Hariz Zulfadli were in was stopped by the Thai nationals.
