Unfortunately, Starbucks Malaysia has allegedly lost millions of Ringgit due to the boycotts related to the Middle East. Furthermore, netizens are rejoicing at the fact that their boycotts are working. However, there are many who defend the company saying that there are no other brands that can compete with them.

Apparently, Berjaya Food states that they have lost quite a tidy sum of money in lieu of the boycotts.

Some state that this is a good thing as users will migrate to local coffee brands. However, other users state that our local coffee chains are mimicking the prices of foreign branded coffee shops ever since the boycotts took place.

Regardless, this is still concerning as a lot of locals who are working for the brand may face losing their jobs. In this economy, it may be difficult for them to find work in alternative coffee shops or restaurants.
