KUALA LUMPUR: The remand period for five men suspected of beating a man to death at Taman Pelangi Semenyih 2 last Tuesday was extended for another four days. Kajang Police Chief, Mohd Zaid Hassan, in a statement said that all those aged 22 to 52 years will be remanded until this Thursday.

Last Friday, Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan was reported to have said that in addition to the five men in question, his side also arrested two other men aged 23 and 40 in Kajang believed to be involved in the incident with both being remanded for five days until this Tuesday. On Wednesday, the media reported that the 42-year-old man was handcuffed before being pulled out of the car by members of the public after the accident and beaten to death.
