A senior police officer detained for accepting bribes to protect illegal activities in the capital city recently may not be acting alone, according to the anti-corruption Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

He stated during a Putrajaya media briefing that they are investigating the possibility of involvement by more senior police officers. The focus of the inquiry is on the amount of money received and the source of the bribes.
Previously, the anti-corruption agency detained a senior police officer suspected of receiving bribes from syndicates in exchange for shielding illegal activities, including gambling, vice, and gangsterism in Kuala Lumpur.
