A 17-year-old youth pleaded guilty at a Magistrate’s Court here to a charge of raping his 14-year-old sister in a house at around 4pm on Feb 6. in Gemas. The teenager was charged under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code for raping a person he was not permitted by law to marry.

The offence carries a jail term of between eight and 30 years and a minimum whipping of 10 strokes on conviction. Judge Kartini fixed May 27 for sentencing pending a probationary report. She also allowed the boy to be released on a RM1,000- bail, which could only be posted by the father or mother. In the same court, a 16-year-old boy claimed trial to a charge of raping a girl who was also 16. He was charged with committing the offence at around 9am on Feb 16 in a house in Gemas.
