Mussels and biotoxins
The presence of biotoxins, naturally occurring and exacerbated by weather and seawater conditions, renders mussels unsafe. Harmful algae species Prorocentrum, Alexandrium, and Pseudonitzschia contaminate the water, posing health risks. Pending test results, the ban on mussel consumption and sales remains in force, safeguarding public health.
