Jürgen Klopp lamented Liverpool’s missed opportunities in their Europa League quarter-final exit against Atalanta, emphasizing that Mohamed Salah’s occasional wastefulness wasn’t to blame. Despite dominating the first half and Salah converting an early penalty, Liverpool couldn’t overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit. 

Liverpool falls short 

Klopp acknowledged the failure to secure a second goal as pivotal but praised his team’s commitment. He stated, “We didn’t lose the tie tonight, we lost it at home last week.” 

Klopp remains unfazed by Salah’s recent form, asserting, “That’s part of the game.” The club’s struggle to maintain tempo in the second half was evident, with Klopp noting the impact of fatigue on key players.
