X users state that if you don’t understand Malay, you need to at least try to learn it. This is especially for those who have been living in the country for decades. Some claim that even European and South Asian foreigners who come here are able to learn the language within a few years.
Others agree that it should be compulsory for us to speak our language, but the immigration officers should not refuse service towards individuals who are unable to speak it. Some state that these officers would need to screen if the individual is able to speak the language or not.
