Apparently there are some questions stirred regarding the halal status of Bundaberg Root Beers. There are debates on X as to whether it is consumable for Muslims or not. Some state that there are traces of alcohol but it would not get you drunk, while others state there is no alcohol in it. 

Bundaberg root beer, halal or not? 

The company is based in Australia, and it’s commonly known even in Australia that they brew non-alcoholic beverages. But users are puzzled as the brand does not have a halal certificate in Malaysia. It is unclear how true are the claims that there are traces of alcohol in the drink. 

Some state that the brand did not receive any Halal certifications in lieu of the naming conventions of their drinks. A drink called ginger beer may make some consumers confused with regards to whether the drink is halal or not.
