For the most part, the Khutbahs, which are sermons, are usually spoken in Bahasa Malaysia as it is the country’s main language. However, in other countries, these sermons may be spoken in the country’s respective language as well. But some users are unhappy that our Sarawakian counterparts are doing it in English. 

Sarawakian defends English friday prayer sermons 

Additionally, the user called those who are from semenanjung as “semenanjing” but some are hoping that it is a typo. But many understood that the local areas should be allowed to have their Khutbahs in the language most of their demographics are conversing in. 

Some users asked as to why the locals in these states won’t just use their own dialects for sermons. But at the end of the day, it is up to the Mosque’s management regarding their preferred language.
