Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong says the heightened security in Singapore following the attack on a Malaysian police station in Ulu Tiram should be taken seriously by his country. While Malaysia initially says it was an attack by the son of formerly-Jemaah Islamiyah linked person, now it says there’s no JI link and the killer was a lone-wolf attacker.

Wong adds: “Such an attack, just across our borders, is a grim reminder that the threat of terrorism remains high.I urge the public to remain vigilant against the terrorism threat. Report any suspicious persons or activities to the authorities immediately.” The attack last Friday (17th May) at a Police station in Ulu Tiram, Johor, killed two police officers and injured another and the attacker was shot dead.
