KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia finished as the runner-up in the Malaysian Masters on Sunday (May 26) after losing to Denmark’s world No. 1 Viktor Axelsen, 6-21, 22-20, 13-21, in the final in 63 minutes at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

World No. 10 Zii Jia, despite the defeat, can hold his head high after reaching his second consecutive final after his triumph in the Thailand Open last week. Zii Jia was the first Malaysian in the men’s singles to make it to the final since Datuk Lee Chong Wei. It was joy for the Dane, who ended his wait for an individual title this year.
