The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has seen nearly three million requests to transfer funds from Account 2 to the new Account 3, with more expected by the August 31 deadline. The restructuring allows a one-time transfer to Account 3, which has already processed RM5.52 billion in withdrawals.
EPF seeing surge in applications for Account 3 transfers
EPF COO Sazaliza Zainuddin notes the rise in digital applications through the i-Akaun app, reflecting improved accessibility. Members can withdraw from Account 3 anytime, with a minimum of RM50, encouraging its use for emergencies.
Currently, RM5.52 billion has already been moved. COO Sazaliza Zainuddin credits the i-Akaun app for the smooth digital shift.
