The Kelantan government has greenlit the draft of the Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment Bill. The bill will be presented to the assembly soon. Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr. Mohamed Fadzli Hassan outlined the bill’s intent to replace outdated legislation and introduce stricter measures against activities deemed contrary to morality, ethics, and public morals.

Notably, the bill targets LGBTQ-related activities, disharmony, religious insult, and unrestricted gender interaction. Penalties for violations are set to increase substantially, aiming to deter transgressions. The bill, endorsed by the state executive council, also seeks to streamline enforcement procedures for investigating and confiscating entertainment equipment.
