Lin Ai Ling, a 37-year-old woman from Ipoh, Malaysia, lost her life savings and limbs to a bacterial infection leading to sepsis in Singapore. Initially mistaking symptoms for food poisoning, she fell critically ill. Despite treatment, all four limbs required amputation, leaving her reliant on family support. Medical bills exceeding S$300,000 depleted her savings.
