A flight attendant was arrested for allegedly smuggling nearly a kilogram of gold from Muscat, Oman to Kannur, a city in southwest India, by concealing it in her rectum. According to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the woman, identified as Surabhi Khatun, was detained upon arrival at Kannur International Airport on May 28.

Further inspection revealed 960 grams of gold compound hidden in her rectum. This marks the first case of gold smuggling involving airline cabin crew.
