In Petaling Jaya, a 21-year-old Indonesian maid was confined to a balcony for a week by her employer. She endured the rain and slept on just a pillow and mattress. Her ordeal ended after she dropped a note for help. 

Maid imprisoned on the Balcony 

CID’s ATIPSOM Division responded, arresting a 69-year-old woman, the suspected employer. The maid was restricted to the balcony, only entering the house for morning chores. The case is under investigation for human trafficking and immigration violations.

In Malaysia, migrant workers face challenges like forced labor and fraudulent recruitment. The government reaffirms its commitment to protect their rights, addressing issues like arbitrary detention and ensuring access to legal employment and essential services.
