The men allegedly operated servers to infect Android phones with malicious apps, allowing scammers to control the devices and access banking information. In 2023, there were at least 1,899 cases in Singapore, resulting in losses of over S$34.1 million (US$25.1 million). The joint team dismantled the complex criminal network over seven months.
