New: Accident at RTS Link station worksite in Woodlands

SINGAPORE – A construction worker died and another was injured in an accident on June 27 at the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link station worksite in Woodlands North. The incident occurred around 9.30am when steel reinforcement bars being installed for the station’s foundation fell, injuring the workers, aged 48 and 49.

Both were hospitalized, but the younger man later died. Police do not suspect foul play. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has called a safety timeout to review procedures and is assisting the deceased worker’s family. This marks the third death at an LTA worksite in seven months.
