Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is now free from the graft charges linked to millions of ringgit from Yayasan Akalbudi. The Kuala Lumpur High Court upheld his discharge not amounting to acquittal (DNAA), rejecting the Malaysian Bar’s judicial review request.
Zahid remains free
Judge Amarjeet Singh emphasized that the Attorney General’s decision to withdraw the case is not typically subject to court intervention. The Bar was ordered to pay RM10,000 in costs. With no further court challenges allowed, Zahid remains free from the 47 corruption charges filed against him.
