The family of Altantuya Shaariibuu has filed an application to enforce a RM5 million judgment against the Malaysian government for her unlawful killing 18 years ago. The family seeks an additional RM4.25 million in interest and RM25,000 in costs.

The Shah Alam High Court is requested to issue a certificate under Section 33(1) of the Government Proceedings Act 1956. The government opposes the application and has requested a stay of the judgment. Altantuya was murdered in 2006, and former policemen Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar were convicted. Political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, also found liable, was acquitted of abetting charges.
