Jovian now ordered to pay RM10 million for ‘friendly loan’

KUALA LUMPUR – Renowned fashion designer Datuk Jovian Mandagie has been ordered to pay RM10 million to two companies after failing to repay two friendly loans of the same amount. High Court Judge Datuk Ahmad Fairuz Zainol Abidin ruled on April 2 and 4 that Jovian must pay RM5 million each to Cekap Air Sdn. Bhd. and Bina Pragmatik Sdn. Bhd.

The former son-in-law of ex-Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, has appealed the judgment. The loans were given on a friendly basis but were not repaid within the 12-month period. The plaintiffs suffered financial losses due to the non-payment.
