The development and implementation of the Main Database System (PADU), including costs for additional staff, advertising, and other expenses over two years, amounts to approximately RM85 million. This counters opposition claims that PADU, built without external contractors, would nearly reach RM100 million.
PADU costs
According to the Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli, answering MP Tan Hong Pin (PH-Bakri), the total cost for PADU’s three-year implementation from 2023 to 2025 is RM85.27 million. This covers ICT hardware and software, ICT services, verification, strategic communication, and user registration operations, which alone have an allocated RM27 million.
