The Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) will propose suspending MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal from parliamentary sessions for six months. This action stems from his use of an unverified letter during a Dewan Rakyat debate, which alleged misconduct by a JPM civil servant.
JPM proposes six month ban for Wan Ahmad Fayshal
The proposal aims to address serious accusations and maintain decorum. On July 1, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal quoted a letter naming an employee of the Employees Provident Fund (KWSP) as the “mastermind” behind a Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd share trading scheme.
The proposal also emphasises that MPs should avoid discussing government officers’ behaviour unless related to their duties. A press conference by Wan Ahmad Fayhsal is expected after the proposal is presented.
