Kelantan has banned all entertainment and musical activities on Thursday nights to encourage acts of worship. The ban, included in the Entertainment Control Enactment and Places of Entertainment 1998, aims to increase worship among Muslims on Thursday nights, a significant time for presenting deeds to Allah and seeking forgiveness.

Former Law Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim criticized the ban, calling it vague and legally baseless, and questioned its impact on other religious activities. He noted that PAS’s community events, often loud and entertaining, could also be affected. Zaid urged PAS leaders to empathize with the people instead of imposing punishments.
