Cyberbullying now tops cybercrime reports in Malaysia with over 9k complaints

PETALING JAYA: Recent data from the MCMC shows that cyberbullying slightly outpaced online scams over the past three years, with 9,483 reports of cyberbullying compared to 9,321 scam complaints. Online bullying peaked at 4,128 cases in 2022, while online scam reports rose from 2,675 in 2022 to 4,180 in 2023. MCMC also recorded 143 reports of child sexual content online since 2022.
