Dr. Nurjasmine, an international board-certified lactation consultant, noted that many Malaysians confuse HMBs with informal milk sharing and lack awareness of their benefits. A study by Universiti Malaya found mixed reactions: 279 new mothers were open to using milk from known donors, while 274 were not willing to use milk from unknown donors. The study also revealed varied willingness to donate.
