The Syariah High Court in Seremban sentenced street musician Norasid Md Said to three months in prison for teaching deviant Millah Abraham doctrines to his son last year. Norasid, 50, pleaded guilty after being accused of instructing his 16-year-old son between 8 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. from June 1 to June 30, 2023.

Charged under Section 52 of the Syariah Criminal Enactment (Negeri Sembilan) 1992, he faced a fine not exceeding RM5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding three years, or both. Norasid appealed the sentence, citing minimal family support. The court ordered consecutive prison terms.
On July 11, he received a one-month prison sentence and a RM2,000 fine for teaching deviant doctrines to his wife last year. Today, Norasid pleaded not guilty to similar charges involving a 42-year-old female family member in April 2023. The case will be revisited on October 14.
