Police confirmed that a man shot dead on Jalan PJS 9/1 Subang Jaya, Selangor, was part of an armed robbery gang from Africa. The suspect, in his late 30s, was driving a red MPV when stopped by a Bukit Aman CID team on August 20.

He opened fire, hitting the police vehicle twice, before being shot dead at the scene. A revolver was recovered from the suspect. Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain revealed the gang, active since 2018, is linked to 45 cases with losses totaling around RM8 million, using social media for fraudulent transactions.
