At that time, PH had won 82 seats and Barisan Nasional 30. That was sufficient for both parties to form a coalition government with 112 MPs. Hence, historically speaking, as this event took place right after the results were known, Anwar had already overtaken Muhyiddin Yassin in the negotiations though the latter now claims he had SDs showing Umno members supported him.
