In the midst of Malaysia’s political turbulence, the Malay community finds itself sharply divided. On one side, PAS criticizes UMNO’s corruption, accusing it of fueling political decay and materialism. On the other, disillusioned UMNO members are swaying towards PAS and Bersatu, driven by UMNO’s perceived betrayal of its principles.
PAS or Umno-PH?
As PAS leader Tan Sri Hadi Awang condemns UMNO’s money politics, UMNO supporters grapple with the disintegration of their party’s once-unshakeable dominance. This schism reflects a broader struggle within the Malay electorate, torn between loyalty to established norms and the allure of reformist promises. “This is even when they have taxed everyone, including the opposition. So, it is proven that they are worse than the Dajjal who does not collect taxes,” Hadi says.
