Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi, Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly, suggested relocating Kuala Lumpur to a safer area, free from floods and landslides. In a Facebook post, he proposed renaming it TL (Tanpa Lumpur). 

Johor speaker proposes moving Kuala Lumpur 

Puad criticised the absence of Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, at the recent landslide site on Jalan Masjid India. He emphasised the impact on KL’s image and businesses. 

Although Dr Zaliha has inspected the area, Puad questioned the measures taken to address frequent floods, comparing it to Indonesia’s capital relocation from Jakarta to Kalimantan due to earthquakes.
