The wife of former Finance Minister Tun Dr Daim Zainuddin has taken legal action to annul the tax authority’s assessment that she owes over RM313 million to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).
Tun Daim’s wife seeks to annul RM313 million tax bill
Na’imah Abdul Khalid claims the 2018 assessment is incorrect and baseless, alleging an additional RM700 million in undeclared income. She argues the notice issued on August 13 is based on unfounded accusations and a malicious audit.
Na’imah also claims LHDN failed to refund RM3.807 billion in tax repayments owed to her for 2017 and earlier. The case is scheduled for a hearing on September 3 at the Shah Alam High Court.
