With the legalisation of gay marriages in Thailand, there have been numerous jokes about how some men may marry another man there. However, in an X post, a person who claims to be a lesbian is asking if she should get married to her girlfriend when they go to Thailand.
Anonymous lesbians asking if getting married is okay
It appears that X users are not entirely agreeable towards the situation. They state that in the religion, one of the fundamental requirements for a marriage is to have a man and woman marrying each other. The approval for such things appears to be low here.
Others state there is no point getting married in Thailand if Malaysia will not recognise their marriage. One solution for them is to live together as housemates and have each other as their beneficiaries according to a user.
