Five Popular Restaurants in Malaysia Lack Halal Certificates But Are Muslim Friendly

In an official statement on September 3, JAKIM clarified the halal status of five popular Malaysian restaurants: Black Canyon, Johnny’s Restaurant, Mr. Dakgalbi, Bungkus Kaw Kaw, and Dolly Dim Sum. 

Five popular restaurants lack Halal certificate

JAKIM confirmed these restaurants do not have Halal certificates but are Muslim-friendly, not serving pork or alcohol. The statement followed the circulation of JAKIM’s letter regarding their halal status. 

JAKIM also clarified that only four outlets of Ayam Penyet Best have Halal certificates, though the specific locations were not provided. Ayam Penyet Best’s central kitchen, supplying all branches, has had a halal certificate since 2012.
