The Malaysian government has revised its civil service entry requirements to align with recent changes in national education policy. The minimum qualification for numerous positions has now been elevated from the Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3) or Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) to the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). This update affects eleven service schemes, including positions such as forest rangers, wildlife assistants, vehicle drivers, and security guards. These roles will now require an SPM qualification, and certain service schemes will be reclassified and consolidated into a new General Service Assistant scheme for specific positions.
