A recent survey by Kajidata Sdn Bhd reveals that Malaysians’ favorite breakfast is nasi lemak, with 19% choosing the dish, while 36% prefer teh tarik or teh O as their morning drink. Conducted by Professor Datuk Seri Syed Arabi Idid of IIUM, the study involved 1,113 respondents. Other popular choices include fried noodles, meehoon, kuehteow, or fried rice (18%), roti canai, tosai, or chapati (16%), and lighter options like roti bakar or sandwiches (15%). Despite the variety, the study highlights Malaysians’ strong connection to breakfast, reflecting the nation’s rich food culture and daily privileges.
