Malaysia Airlines has lost 12 engineers to SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC) since the latter opened its facility at Subang Airport in 2023. Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) managing director Mr. Izham Ismail confirmed the number, addressing rumors of large-scale poaching. Concerns arose after Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Loke revealed that 63 engineers had left Malaysia Airlines’ engineering arm since January, likely due to more competitive salaries from other companies. SIAEC, operating through its subsidiary Base Maintenance Malaysia, stated that its recruitment process is fair and transparent, complying with local regulations and industry standards.
