Locals mobbed Malbatt vehicles in Lebanon

The Defence Ministry reported that two Malaysian Battalion (Malbatt 850-11) vehicles, part of the United Nations Interim Force (Unifil) in Lebanon, were attacked by unruly civilians on Sept 18. The incident occurred at 5:32 pm local time near Tyre City while the vehicles, carrying ten military personnel, were returning to camp. Civilians, managing traffic due to an ambulance and fire engine movement, suddenly turned aggressive, throwing rocks and puncturing the vehicles’ tyres. To de-escalate the situation, the convoy leader instructed the vehicles to park safely while awaiting assistance. No injuries were reported, and the incident has since gone viral online.
