During the last day of school holidays, 69 students were among 136 individuals arrested in Ipoh during “Op Samseng,” an operation targeting illegal street racing on Jalan Klebang Ria. The Perak police, in collaboration with the Department of Environment and AADK, conducted the operation. Aged between 12 and 45, the detainees, including six women, were held for racing and spectating. Summonses were issued for multiple violations, with 20 motorcycles seized. Police warned of a worrying trend where families, including children, attended the races. A police corporal suffered minor injuries during the operation. Further investigations are ongoing.
