Many Malaysians have borrowed from The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) for their studies. Unfortunately, 430,000 borrowers have failed to repay their loans, leading to RM6 billion in arrears.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir highlighted that this irresponsible behavior jeopardizes the fund corporation’s financial stability. Some defaulters haven’t made any repayments years after graduating. 

Legal actions are being considered against these defaulters. Zambry urged borrowers to discuss their repayment plans with the fund corporation, emphasizing their moral responsibility to repay, as the funds are crucial for future students.
