Seven years after the tragic death of Malaysian National Defence University (UPNM) cadet Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, justice has been served. The Court of Appeal sentenced six former UPNM students to death for his murder, reinstating the original charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Zulfarhan was brutally tortured, suffering 90 steam iron burns, after being accused of laptop theft by his peers. Despite his denials, the abuse continued for days, leading to his death on June 1, 2017. The case shook the nation, highlighting the extreme violence and cruelty that led to his untimely demise.
